A pretty easy drive today. San Jose to the LA area. All freeway, dry and only moderate winds in places. A lot less interesting than the curvy, windy, drive through the town streets but much more efficient in terms of time, even in California traffic.
We had a very nice dinner with Lauren and her fiancé, Chris. Great couple and we chatted for several hours.

February 11th, 2015. Our last day before we cross the border!
Travel time from LA to Palm Springs is supposed to be just under 3 hours. Traffic being what it is, you never know. It ended up not being too bad.
Arrived just a little past noon so we made our way out to the Oasis Date Gardens to sample a Date Milk Shake. A little more goofing around the Palm Springs until 6:00 this evening when we meet with my cousin, Vicky and Alex, for dinner.
Although their main home is in Chilliwack, BC, a short distance from our condo in Birch Bay, we never seem to find the time to visit there. Since we're passing through, and they spend the winters down here, we're finally going to see one another after many years. 82 degrees as I write this; who can blame them.
A terrific dinner and absolutely lovely evening. Great to see my long lost cousin and family.
